Carolinas Mounted Patrol Association was formed in 1998 by several units from North and South Carolina to develop a standard of excellence among Mounted Police units.  Our membership had grown to over 15 departments, both sworn and volunteer units or posses but has unfortunately declined due to units being disbanded as a result of budget cuts.  The following objectives were created for the original constitution and stand true today:

• Unite and assist law enforcement agencies in training and continued improvement of mounted patrol officers and their mounts to develop a network of equine information
• Establish a working standard for mounted officers, mounts and trainers through a certified program
• Provide members with educational material through publications, visual aids and training seminars.
• Enhance the effectiveness of mounted patrol units for our respective agencies and public we serve.
